From 1 to 3 June 2023, the Jean Monnet Centre in Strasbourg organised a trinational summer school on « Borders in Wartime » at the Studienhaus Wiesneck in Buchenbach.

Anne Thevenet and Bernard Reitel from the Institut Frontières et Discontinuités were delighted and honoured to take part in this summer university. During a round table discussion moderated by Birte Wassenberg from the Strasbourg IEP, dedicated to the FRONTEM project (https://transfrontier.eu/projects/frontem-frontiers-in-motiom-which-models-for-the-eu/), they were able to exchange views with colleagues from other borders and students on the issue of border management in times of crisis. It was also an opportunity to preview the project’s online platform!

The event brought together about forty students and speakers from France, Germany and Switzerland to discuss the subject in a series of round tables, lectures and working groups.
