The Institute for Transnational and Euregional cross-border cooperation and Mobility (ITEM) has announced the next two-day TEIN Conference in Maastricht. The conference is co-organised by ITEM and the Transfrontier Euro-Institute Network (TEIN) in the framework of the Border in Globalization-21st century project and will take place on the 26 and 27 September 2024.

The theme of the conference is « The Future of Cross-Border Cooperation and Mobility: Horizontal Integration and Beyond ».

As part of this conference, ITEM invites to submit individual or panel proposals that align with the central theme.

The topics discussed include innovative cross-border governance mechanisms and instruments, labour market integration and mobility, (EU) regional cooperation, cross-border entrepreneurship or conflict and cooperation at the EU’s external borders.

The period for the submission of proposals is as follows:

• 1 December 2023: paper proposals and panel proposals
• 1 March 2024: answer of the reviewing committee
• 31 July 2024: submission of full papers
