• FRONTEM: Publications "Borders and Border Spaces in the EU"

Would you like to find out more about the challenges at the border between Romania and Hungary? Are you interested in the governance structures and legal instruments along the Franco-German border? Or would you like to find out about the role of citizens and the perception of the German-Danish border after the pandemic?

You’ll find the answers to these questions and more in Cahiers Fare no. 24 and 25 « Borders and Border Spaces in the EU », now published by Éditions L’Harmattan and presenting the results of the Jean Monnet FRONTEM network (Frontières en mouvement: quels modèles pour l’UE?). The network partners exchanged knowledge and practices on the management and perception of five different European borders: the Franco-German border, the Franco-Belgian border, the Romanian-Hungarian border, the German-Danish border and the border between Ireland and Northern Ireland.

The Cahier Fare n° 24 Vol. 1 deals with the role of the border in the process of European integration in the face of border displacement and the question of border management before and after the pandemic.

Cahier Fare Vol. 2 focuses on a comparison of mental perceptions of the border in the five European border regions mentioned. The various chapters are illustrated by maps from the Mission Opérationnelle Transfrontalière (MOT).
