Call for Papers: International Conference “What Future for the Concept of Borderless Europe?”
The conference “What Future for the Concept of Borderless Europe?”, organised by the LUPS-CESCI Research Group on Cross-Border Cooperation and TEIN will explore the evolving perspectives of border policies and territorial cooperation in an era of multiple crises.
Conference panels:
- The border – as a symbol and producer of (territorial) identity
- Perspectives of new geographies – functionality overwriting administrative divisions
- Cross-border citizens in the EU
- Re-charging Borderless Europe: EU policies and local examples
Important Dates:
- Application deadline: 20 March 2025
- Acceptance notification: 1 April 2025
- Conference & paper submission deadline: 13-14 May 2025
- Publication of selected papers in the ABCD Journal: June 2025
Selected papers will be published in the first fully open-access issue of the ABCD Journal, but it is also possible to only hold a presentation at the conference without submitting a paper for publication.
Submission Requirements:
Please apply by submitting the following:
- Title of the paper and intended panel
- 5 keywords
- Abstract (2,000-4,000 characters)
- Short author biography (800-1,000 characters), including your name and institutional affiliation as it should appear in the publication
Submissions should clearly outline the research question, methodology, and relevance to the conference themes. Final papers are expected to be 40,000-60,000 characters, including spaces.
