• Conference ‘Borders, Politics and Databases: Using Data to Power Border Studies’ - 3 and 4 June 2024

On 3 and 4 June, the two-day conference ‘Borders, Politics and Databases: Using Data to Power Border Studies’ was organised in collaboration between Borders in Globalisation (University of Victoria), the Euro-Institut and the Transfrontier Euro-Institut Network (TEIN)!

The conference, which was attended by around 40 participants from academia and practice, focused on research in border regions. The conference offered participants the opportunity to present their work in seven panels. Various topics such as migration, solidarity and asylum, research methods and databases, culture, history, politics and traffic flows were covered.

The conference was hosted by the European Parliament in Strasbourg and offered participants from various universities and other organisations the opportunity to visit this institution. Participants were able to address current challenges in a setting that encouraged exchange, openness and sharing.
