The European Cross-Border Skills (ECBS) project is a strategic partnership for higher education that started in 2017 with support from the European Union through the Erasmus+ programme. The ECBS project aims at highlighting the cross-border knowledge and skills developed by students and staff. Therefore several cross-border regions have teamed up and have developped a joint platform allowing students and staff of cross-border universities to certify their cross-border competencies and experiences. ECBS is thus a concrete example how micro-credentials can be obtained on a European scale.
